Handle a late payment
Apply the late fee and send a reminder without leaving the overdue list.
When a tenant's payment is overdue, you need to act quickly—apply the fee, notify them, and keep the account flagged for follow-up. This guide walks you through the process in one workflow, keeping everything on record.
Click an overdue balance at the top of Payments to act on it.
The 5% late fee is applied per your policy. Pick a reminder template and send it.
The late fee is automatically calculated based on your property's payment policy, so you stay consistent across all tenants.
The reminder is logged on the tenant ledger. Escalation notices unlock after 14 days.
This creates an audit trail on the tenant's ledger and unlocks escalation options if the balance isn't resolved within 14 days.
What's next
If the tenant doesn't respond to the reminder within your grace period, return to the overdue list to escalate the account or adjust the payment plan.
