You can convert any message into a task and assign it without switching apps. This keeps action items tied to their original context, so you and your team always know why something needs to happen.
Open the channel with the message you want to act on.
Describe the Task — the original message stays linked, one click away.
The original message stays linked, so anyone working on the task can see the full context with one click.
Click Create task — the assignee is notified and a task chip appears under the message.
The assignee gets notified right away, and a task chip appears under the message so the whole channel can see it's been actioned.
Your task appears in Tasks, linked back to the message and channel.
What's next
Once tasks are created, manage them in your Tasks view to track progress and mark them complete as your team works through them.
