Create a channel
Spin up a focused space for a project or team, public or invite-only.
You'll create a dedicated channel where your team can collaborate on a specific project or topic. Channels keep conversations organized and make it easy for members to find relevant discussions without noise from other work.
Open Messages in the top navigation.
Messages is where all your team communication lives — channels, direct messages, and shared files.
Click New channel.
Name the channel — a prefix like #q3- keeps project channels together.
A consistent naming convention like #q3-planning or #project-alpha makes channels instantly recognizable and keeps related spaces grouped in your sidebar.
Click Create channel — members join at once and history starts here.
Your channel is now live and ready — members can start posting right away, and the full conversation history is preserved from creation onward.

With your channel created, invite the right people and set a channel description so everyone understands its purpose at a glance.
