Lock brand elements in a template
Let teammates tweak copy and images while your logos, colors, and fonts stay locked in place.
Protect your brand identity by locking logos, colors, and fonts in a template. When you lock brand elements, teammates can still edit copy and images, but they can't accidentally change what makes your brand recognizable.
This is especially useful when you're sharing templates across a team or organization — everyone gets a consistent starting point without the risk of brand drift.
Open the template you'd like to protect from the Templates list.
Turn on Lock logo placement — from now on, editors can't move, resize, or delete the logo layer.
Once you lock logo placement, the logo layer becomes fixed in position and size — editors can still work with everything else on the canvas.
Turn on Lock color palette too — editors pick from your brand kit swatches instead of a free color wheel.
With the color palette locked, editors see only your approved brand colors when they pick a color, keeping designs cohesive across the team.
Locks save on their own and apply to every new design made from this template — your existing designs stay untouched.
These locks apply only to new designs created from this template going forward; any designs already made from it remain unchanged.
What's next
Now that your template is locked, share it with your team so they can create on-brand designs without needing to know your brand guidelines by heart.
If you want to lock fonts as well, return to the template and turn on Lock font family to complete your brand protection.
